Determination of crude protein retention of sorghum in broiler chickens

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje krmnému pokusu s brojlerovými kuřaty s cílem zjištění retence NL (dusíkaté látky) a tuku v jejich metabolismu po zkrmování krmných směsí s obsahem čiroku (Sorghum bicolor (L.) MOENCH). Kuřata byla rozdělena na 3 skupiny a krmena byla adlibitně kontrolní krmnou směsí KONTROLA a dvěma čirokovými krmnými směsmi ČIROK 5 % a ČIROK 40 %. Retence NL a tuku byly stanoveny indikátorovou metodou a pro tento účel byl do směsí přidán oxid chromitý v množství 0,3 % jako indikátor. Brojlerová kuřata Ross 308 byla do testu zařazena od 10. dne věku a pokus byl ukončen v jejich 35. den věku. U kontrolní krmné směsi byla zjištěna retence NL 67,78 %, u 5 % čirokové krmné směsi 65,89 % a u 40 % čirokové krmné směsi 65,47 %. Míra retence NL látek byla průkazně nižší (P>0,05) u krmné směsi s obsahem 40 % čiroku oproti kontrolní krmné směsi. Retence NL čiroku stanovena diferenční metodou je v průměru 66,38 %. Výsledek retence tuku u kontrolní krmné směsi byl 84,95 %, u 5 % čirokové směsi 84,94 % a u 40 % čirokové směsi 85,23 %. Retence tuku byla průkazně (P>0,05) nejvyšší u čirokové krmné směsi s obsahem 40 %. Retence tuku stanovena diferenční metodou je v průmětu 85,78.Byly odebrány vzorky krve na biochemický rozbor, který neprokázal žádné průkazné změny oproti výsledkům biochemických vlastností krve u kuřat krmených kontrolní krmnou směsí. Průměrná spotřeba krmiva byla nejnižší u kontoliní krmné směsi 1,277 kg na 1 kuře, u ČIROK 5 % byla spotřeba 1,318 kg/kuře a u ČIROKU 40 % byla spotřeba 1,300 kg/kuře. Průměrná hodnota JUT (jatečně upravené tělo) byla u kontrolní směsi 69,07 %, 68,54 % u ČIROK 5 % a 68,68 % u ČIROK 40 %. Čirok lze doporučit do krmných směsí pro brojlerová kuřata od 10. do 35. dne věku v množství 5-40 %, jelikož neměl negativní vliv na brojlery v našem pokusu. Nicméně nutričně zcela neodpovídá potřebám vykrmovaných kuřat a je potřeba nedostatky čiroku doplnit jinou vhodnou krmnou komponentou a aktivně se podílet na šlechtění odrůd čiroku se sníženým obsahem antinutričních látek, které snižují stravitelnost škrobu a proteinů.

Abstract:

This thesis examines the retention of crude protein (CP) and crude fat in broiler chicken after feeding with different percentages of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) MOENCH) grain in the feed as a substitution for maize. Chickens were sorted into 3 groups and fed ad libitum with a feed mixture CONTROL, SORGHUM 5 % and SORGHUM 40 %. To establish CP retention and retention of crude fat we used the indicator method. In the mixture is 0,3 % chromium oxide as the indicator. The broiler chickens Ross 308 were brought into the experiment at the age of 10 days and the experiment was finished on the 35th day of their age. The result of the CP retention was 67,78 % in the control mixture, 65,89 % in the sorghum 5 %, and 65,47 % in the sorghum 40 %. There was a significant difference (P>0,05) of lower CP retention of sorghum 40 % feed mixture according to the control mixture. CP retention of sorghum was on average 66,38 %. Retention of crude fat was 84,95 % in the control mixture, 84,94 % in the sorghum 5 %, and 85,23 % in the sorghum 40 %. Retention of crude fat was significantly higher (P>0,05) in the feed mixture sorghum 40 %. Crude fat retention was 85,78 % on average. Simultaneously, biochemical parameters of blood were verified with no significant difference (P>0,05). average daily intake of the feed was 1,277 kg per chicken of the control feed mixture, 1,318 kg/chicken of sorghum 5 %, and 1,300 kg/chicken of sorghum 40 %. Average carcass content was 69,07 % for the control mixture, 68,54 % for the sorghum 5 %, and 68,68 % for the sorghum 40 %. Taking into account that there were no health issues in our chicken in this experiment sorghum can be recommended for use in the feeding mixtures for broiler chickens in the range of age 10-35 days of 5-40 % sorghum grain in the mixture. However, sorghum doesn´t cover perfectly all the nutrition needs of broiler chicken and so for now it´s needed to solve these by filling in the imperfections of sorghum with other suitable feed components for poultry. It is needed to actively search for better options in the breeding system of sorghum with lower content of antinutritive compounds, which are the cause of lower sufficiency of digestibility of starch and proteins.
