Analysis of runner's foot arch condition

Abstract:

Úvod do problematiky: V dnešní době nabízejí výrobci běžcům dostatečný výběr kvalitní běžecké obuvi. Otázkou je, zdali jsou běžci schopni si vhodnou obuv vybrat s ohledem na stav jejich nožní klenby. Účelem tohoto výzkumu bylo analyzovat stav nožní klenby u vybrané skupiny běžců. Metody: Do výzkumu se zapojilo 24 běžců (15 mužů a 9 žen) s průměrným věkem 38,6 ± 9,6 let. Plantogramy otisků chodidel byly zhotoveny systémem PodoCam a vyhodnoceny dle metody Chippaux-Šmiřák. Výsledky: V 91,67 % byla zjištěna normálně klenutá noha, v 6,25 % noha vysoká a v 2,08% i noha plochá. Dle statistických výpočtů nemá u zkoumaných osob hodnota BMI ani věk přímý vliv na výšku nožní klenby. Závěry: Zjištěné výsledky této studie dávají podnět pro další výzkumy.

Abstract:

Introduction: Nowadays, the producers are offering to runners a sufficient product selection of quality running footwear. The question is, whether the runners are able to choose the right type of shoes with respect to the state of their vault of the foot arch. The object of this research was to analyse the state of the foot vault within the selected group of runners. Methods: 24 runners (15 men and 9 women) were involved in the research with the average age 38,6 ± 9,6 years. The plantograms of the feet were made using the PodoCam system and evaluated with the Chippaux-Smirak method. Results: In 91,67 % the normal arched foot was detected, in 6,25 % high arched foot and in 2,08% flat arched foot. According to statistical calculations, within the researched group, the BMI value nor the age has direct affection to the highness of the vault of the foot arch. Conclusion: Observed results of this research give the stimulus for further researches.
