Cloud scheduler for OpenNebula middleware

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je vytvořit nový plánovací modul pro cloudový middleware OpenNebula. OpenNebula je platforma, která usnadňuje práci s cloudovou infrastrukturou. Každá taková platforma by měla obsahovat plánovací modul pro efektivní správu svých zdrojů. V této práci se nejprve zabýváme existujícím plánovacím modulem, který OpenNebula již obsahuje. Praktická část potom popisuje design a implementaci nově navrženého plánovače nazvaného ONEScheduler. Tento plánovací modul byl navržen modulárně tak, aby byl v budoucnu snadno rozšiřitelný a konfigurovatelný. ONEScheduler je implementován jako Maven aplikace v jazyce Java 8 za pomoci rámců jako Spring, Jackson nebo XPath.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the proposal of the new scheduler for OpenNebula. OpenNebula is a platform for building and managing cloud infrastructure. Scheduler is usually one of many components these cloud managers offer. In this work, we describe the current scheduler that OpenNebula provides, its features and its drawbacks. The practical part of the thesis presents the design and implementation of the new scheduler. The newly proposed scheduler is called ONEScheduler. ONEScheduler was designed to have modular architecture, and to be easily extensible and configurable. The scheduler is implemented as a maven application build in Java 8 using frameworks, like Spring, Jackson or XPath.
