This thesis deals with the description of linguistic features and functions of Russian national superstitions. The difference between the meaning of the "symbol" and the "superstition" is discussed in the thesis and these terms are distinguished. Práce je věnována výzkumu jazykových zvláštností, funkcí a obsahové náplni ruských lidových znamení. Rozlišují se pojmy "znamení" a "lidová pověra"; zkoumají se událost, předpověď a pojistka jako součásti znamení; uvádí se klasifikace znamení a popisuje se jejich funkční rozmanitost (kapitola 1).
