Freedom of Speech and its Limits

Abstract:

The Bachelor diploma thesis deals with the theme of Freedom of Speech and its borders. The primary focus is to examine, to what extent it is morally justifiable to restrict Freedom of Speech. The thesis offers a brief introduction to the subject, it deals with the notion of Freedom of Speech and offers a brief history. The core of the thesis is the systematic interpretation of the views of various authors, such as John Stuart Mill, Joel Feinberg, Catharine MacKinnon, Nadine Strossen, and others. The thesis does not present its own concept of limiting the Freedom of Speech, but to introduce and compare existing opinions.

Abstract:

Bakalárska diplomová práca sa zaoberá témou slobody slova a jej hraníc. Jej cieľom je preskúmať, do akej miery je morálne obhájiteľné obmedziť slobodu slova. Práca ponúka stručný úvod do tematiky, zaoberá sa samotným pojmom sloboda slova a ponúka jej stručnú históriu. Jadro práce tvorí systematický výklad a interpretácia názorov rôznych autorov, ako napríklad John Stuart Mill, Joel Feinberg, Catharine MacKinnon, Nadine Strossen a ďalších. Cieľom práce nie je podať vlastnú koncepciu limitácie slobody slova, ale predstaviť a porovnať existujúce názory.
