Anotácia Mnohopočetný myelom je zhubné plazmocelulárne ochorenie, pre ktoré je charakteristické komplexné zmeny karyotypu. V súčasnej dobe sa prestavba chromozómu 1, konktrétne oblasti 1q21, ukazuje ako významný prognostický faktor ochorenia (jeho vývoja, agresivity a reakcie na liečbu). Abstract Multiple myeloma (MM) is a malignant plasma cell disorder characterized by complex karyotypes instability. Recent studies have shown that aberrations of chromosome 1, especially amplifications of 1q21 region, are associated with the malignant phenotype including drug resistance.
