Abstract:

Cílem této práce je přispět k lepšímu porozumění konzervátorských a restaurátorských zásahů na předmětech z železa a mědi. Předkládá kompaktní souhrn faktů k zacházení s kovovými historickými předměty s využitím širokého kontextu. Práce krátce popisuje zmíněné kovy využívané v historii spolu s jejich důležitými vlastnostmi. Předkládá přehled častých jevů, které se projevují postupem času a nabízí jejich řešení v širokém kontextu. Práce se dívá na možné vlivy, které působí znehodnocování povrchu, prochází několik historických metod ošetření a nabízí historická fakta, spojená s prací konzervátora restaurátora, které je vhodné vzít v úvahu. Práce zahrnuje několik konzervačních metod, které je možno použít vzhledem k předem zjištěným informacím o předmětu, a ke konci zdůrazňuje jak etický kodex konzervátora - restaurátora, tak jeho vhodné vzdělání, které nechápe pouze coby znalost odborných technik, ale také jako orientaci v širším kontextu, obsahující možné minulé metody ošetřování, znalost prostředí a dalších možných vlivů, které mohou ve výsledku ovlivnit konečné rozhodnutí pro daný postup

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to contribute to better understanding of conservation and restoration interventions on metal objects of historical importance. Its ambition is not to be the complete in depth overview, but it rather offers a compact guidelines to how to treat the objects in their full context. Author briefly describes the iron and copper used in history with their important aspects. Offers the overview of common effects that can appear over time and deals with the problem in a complex way. Thesis looks at all possible influences that can cause degradation of metal, goes through the different historical treatments and the historical facts connected with conservation and restoration work that are relevant to take into account when treating the objects today. Thesis includes a variation of special methods that can be used based on previously obtained information and in the end stresses the importance of both ethical codex of conservator and the proper education. The latter is not to be understood only as the knowledge of restoration techniques, but also as the orientation in broader context which includes past treatments, environment and other possible influences that can change a scientists mind when deciding how to proceed
