Interaction between teachers and children in reaction to misbehavior in kindergarten

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na interakci mezi učitelkami a dětmi během řešení nevhodného chování dětí v mateřské škole. Cílem práce je popsat, jak interakce probíhají, tedy jak v těchto interakcích jednají učitelky a jak jednají děti. Práce se dělí na dvě části, a sice na část teoretickou a část empirickou. Teoretická část představuje instituci mateřské školy a její aktéry v podobě dětí předškolního věku a učitelek. Dále se týká nevhodného chování, které se ve školním prostředí přirozeně vyskytuje a uvádím, jak na nevhodné chování v této bakalářské práci nahlížím. Empirická část se zaměřuje na metodologii výzkumného šetření, které jsem realizovala ve dvou vybraných mateřských školách. Přibližuje výzkumnou metodu pozorování a interpretuje data získaná touto metodou, která umožňují odpovídat na stanovené výzkumné otázky. Na základě pozorování interakcí v mateřských školách jsem vytvořila šest kategorií nevhodného chování. Každá z kategorií se vyznačuje určitými charakteristickými znaky projevů chování v podobě verbální i neverbální komunikace. Projevy chování se v jednotlivých kategoriích liší, ale také lze nalézt projevy chování, které jsou charakteristické pro vícero kategorií zároveň.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis focuses on the interaction between teachers and children while dealing with misbehavior of children in the kindergarten. The aim of this thesis is to describe how interactions take place, in other words, how teachers act and how children act in these interactions. The thesis is divided into two parts, which are the theoretical part and the empirical part. The theoretical part introduces the institution of the kindergarten and its actors in the form of preschool children and teachers. The theoretical part also concerns misbehavior that naturally occurs in the school environment, and I present how I view misbehavior in this Bachelor thesis. The empirical part focuses on the methodology of the research investigation that I realized in two chosen kindergartens. It introduces the research method of observation and interprets the data obtained by this method, which allows answering the research questions. Based on observations of kindergarten interactions, I created six categories of misbehavior. Each of the categories is characterized by specific features of behavioral expressions in the form of verbal and nonverbal communication. The behavioral manifestations vary from category to category, but it is also possible to find behavioral manifestations that are characteristic of several categories simultaneously.
