Brewery industry and its economic relations in a specific country

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na zhodnocení a komparaci ekonomických aspektů pivovarnictví a trhů souvisejících komodit v České republice. V první části práce je specifikován pivovarnický průmysl a jeho okolí, také jsou pospány suroviny a samotná výroba piva. Dále jsou vymezeni hlavní konkurenti na českém trhu a také jsou vymezeny faktory tvorby ceny piva. Druhá část práce se zaměřuje na produkci, spotřebu a mezinárodní obchod s pivem a souvisejícími komoditami jako je chmel a slad. Česká republika patří mezi země s největší produkcí piva na území Evropy. Ve spotřebě zaujímá na území Evropy dokonce první místo. V komparaci s ostatními zeměmi Evropy je Česká republika jedním z hlavních exportérů a import piva do České republiky se každým rokem zvyšuje. Trendem tohoto odvětví je momentálně investování do inovací pro ekologičtější výrobu piva a také zvyšování zaměstnanosti žen v pivovarnictví. Největším rizikem v současné době v oblasti pivovarnického průmyslu jsou omezení související s onemocněním COVID-19. Tato situace může ovlivňovat odvětví i do budoucna.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on assessment and comparison of economic aspects of brewing industry and relevant commodities’ market in the Czech Republic. The first part specifies the brewing industry and its background; next, the raw materials and the brewing methods are described here. Further, the key players and their main competitors at the Czech market are defined, as well as the factors influencing the beer price. The second part deals with production, consumption and international trade with beer and relevant commodities as hop and malt. The Czech Republic ranks among the countries with the largest beer production in Europe and is the first in its consumption. In comparison to other European countries the Czech Republic is one of the main exporters and the beer import to the Czech Republic is growing every year as well. The current trend in this industry is investment into innovations regarding more ecological beer production and the next tendency is increase in number of woman employees. Currently, the highest risks in the area of brewing industry are the restrictions resulting from COVID 19 pandemic situation.
