Abstract:

Cílem práce je vytvořit systém pro automatickou desambiguaci víceznačných sloves v angličtině, využívající techniku CPA (Corpus Pattern Analysis), která zkoumá syntaktické a sémantické vlastnosti sloves. Práce popisuje tři metody, které byly v jejím rámci implementovány a testovány na datech z ručně anotovaného korpusu. Z těchto testů vyšla nejlépe metoda zpracovávající údaje jak o vztazích významů sloves k sémantickým typům jejich kolokací, tak i o vztazích těchto typů navzájem, definovaných ontologií.

Abstract:

The goal of the thesis is to create a word-sense disambiguation system for polysemous verbs in English that makes use of Corpus Pattern Analysis (CPA), a technique for the syntagmatic and semantic description of verbs. It describes three supervised methods that were implemented and tested on an annotated corpus sample to measure and compare their efficiencies. The one that turned out to give the best results processes information about the relation between a verb's sense and the semantic types of its collocates, as well as the relations between the semantic types themselves, defined in the CPA ontology.
