Trends and Innovations of Payment Cards

Abstract:

Téma mé diplomové práce se zaměřuje na představení a seznámení se s aktuálními trendy v oblasti platebních karet v České republice a v zahraničí. V práci se zabývám obecnou charakteristikou platebních karet, kde představuji platební kartu jako platební prostředek pro naše každodenní nákupy zboží a služeb. Dále se především zaměřuji na nové možnosti platebních karet, definuji jednotlivé nové technologie pomocí bezkontaktních produktů, popisuji vývoj nových technologií na českém a zahraničním karetním trhu, uvádím detailní pohled a srovnání vývoje trhu platebních karet v České republice a na Slovensku. Část mé práce je věnována i vlastnímu průzkumu s cílem zjištění úrovně povědomí držitelů karet o novinkách v této oblasti. Nové technologie se masivně rozšiřují a platební karty se postupně začínají objevovat i v nových sektorech, kde jsou i dle mého průzkumu velmi žádané. Zároveň roste počet akceptačních míst a některé zahraniční země tak začínají vážně uvažovat o zrušení hotovosti.

Abstract:

The topic of my diploma thesis focuses on the introduction the current trends in the field of payment cards in the Czech Republic and in the foreign countries. In the thesis I deal with the general characteristics of payment cards, where I represent the payment card as the payment instrument for our daily purchases of goods and services. In addition to that I concentrate on the new ways of the payment cards, I define the various new technologies using contactless products, I characterize the development of the new technologies in the Czech and foreign card market, I mention the detailed view and comparison of the development of the payment card market in the Czech and Slovak Republic. The part of my diploma thesis is devoted to the own research to determine the level cardholders´ awareness of news in this area. New technologies are massively expanding and payment cards are starting to appear in the new sectors, where they are high desirable - according to my research. At the same time the number of acceptance points is increasing and some foreign countries are beginning to think seriously about the abolition of cash.
