The aim of education under The convention on the rights of the child: strengthening of respect for their own culture, language and values

Abstract:

Úmluva o právech dítěte je mezinárodně právním dokumentem, který zakotvuje práva dítěte a spojuje různé kategorie lidských práv. Tato práce se soustředí na právo dítěte na vzdělání a na cíle, ke kterým má edukace dítěte směřovat. Zaměřuje se na oblast základního vzdělávání a na možnosti, které má škola při naplňování cílů vzdělání týkajících se posilování úcty k vlastní kulturní identitě, jazyku a hodnotám. Srovnává názory jednotlivých autorů na danou problematiku. Cílem empirické části práce je nahlédnutí do vztahu dětí k vybraným vyučovacím předmětům Český jazyk a literatura, Cizí jazyk; zjištění jejich názoru na důležitost znalostí a dovedností získaných v těchto předmětech pro jejich budoucí život a povolání. Zároveň zjišťuje vztah mezi věkem dětí a hodnocením důležitosti vyučovacího předmětu pro jejich budoucí život a povolání. Vývin člověka ovlivňuje nejen genetická vybavenost, ale nesporně i prostředí, zejména pak prostředí sociální, ve kterém žije. Sociokulturní prostředí působí na utváření osobnosti jedince v mnoha směrech. Cílem moderní výchovy a tedy i sociální pedagogiky je působit tak, aby se jedinec mohl plně rozvinout a stát se všestranně rozvinutou osobností.

Abstract:

The Convention on the rights of the child is an international legal document that determines the rights of children and connects various categories of human rights. The work is aimed on the child's right to education and the possibilities that the school has in meeting the education targets regarding reinforcement of respect to proper cultural identity, language and values. It compares the points of view of the individual authors on the stated issue. The target of the empirical part is to find out relationship of children to selected subjects: Czech language and literature, foreign languages; their point of view on the importance of knowledge and skills acquired in the subjects for their future life and career. It also detects the relationship between age of children and evaluating the importance of the subject for their future life and career. The development of human is affected not only the by genetics, but surely by the environment, especially the social environment in which he lives. Socio-cultural environment affects creation of the individual´s personality in many ways. The aim of the modern education and also of the social pedagogy is to act so that the individual can fully develop and become all-round developed personality.
