Cieľom tejto práce je zobraziť Arthura Millera ako dramatika, ktorého osobný život mu priniesol mnoho tragických skúseností. Jeho literárna tvorba je vo veľkej miere ovplyvnená skúsenosťami z jeho života. V troch vybraných dielach sú zobrazené hlavné i vedľajšie postavy, ktoré majú mnoho spoločného s ľuďmi z jeho súkromného života, alebo s ním samým. The purpose of this thesis is to portray Arthur Miller as a playwright, whose personal life brought him many tragic experiences. His literary works are hugely influenced by his personal life. In three chosen plays are created characters who have a lot in common with people who surrounded him in his personal sphere, or with his own self.
