Renovate of selected prehistoric and medieval ceramic vessels with regard to deposit of this vessels in the depository

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce představuje postupy konzervování-restaurování pravěké, středověké a novověké keramiky, která pochází ze systematických i záchranných archeologických výzkumů ÚAM FF MU, ÚAPP Brno a Muzea města Brna. Postupy provedených konzervátorsko-restaurátorských prací mají vazbu na výsledky petroarcheologických a chemických rozborů restaurovaných nádob. Získané výsledky jsou porovnávány s publikovanými informacemi. Provedené rozbory přinesly i některé nové poznatky k technologii výroby studovaných keramických artefaktů (identifikace dosud neznámého složení glazury, potvrzení místní provenience keramiky apod.). Z hlediska preventivní konzervace se ukázalo, že uložení všech restaurovaných nádob je téměř nevyhovující. Provedené analýzy a konzervátorsko-restaurátorské postupy ukazují, že ke každé nádobě, ať pravěké nebo středověké, je nutné přistupovat individuálně.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the conservation-restoration procedures of prehistoric, mediaeval and modern pottery coming from both systematic and rescue researches of ÚAM FF MU, ÚAPP Brno and Brno City Museum. The conducted conservation-restoration procedures are connected to the previous petroarchaeological and chemical analyses of the restored vessels. The gained results were compared to published data. The conducted analyses brought some new information on the production technology of the examined pottery artefacts (the identification of so far unknown glaze composition, verification of local provenance of the pottery etc.). From the point of view of a preventive conservation, it was found out that the way of deposition of the vessels is almost inconvenient. The carried out analyses and conservation-restoration procedures used show that an individual approach must be applied to each prehistoric or mediaeval vessel.
