The aim of this thesis is to examine and analyze Malta´s asylum policy in the context of development of the EU asylum policy. It is focusing on the qualitative and quantitative changes which occurred in the Malta´s asylum policy in two periods: before joining the EU and during approximation process of its asylum legislation with acquis and after becoming a full member of the EU. Cieľom tejto práce je na základe vývoja európskej azylovej politiky skúmať a analyzovať azylovú politiku Malty. Práca sa zameriava na kvalitatívne a kvantitatívne zmeny, ktoré v maltskej azylovej politike nastali v období keď sa pripravovala na členstvo v EÚ a usilovala sa o aproximáciu jej azylovej legislatívy s aquis, ako aj v období po vstupe.
