Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá didaktickými hrami při studiu anglického jazyka ve školním prostředí. Hlavním cílem této práce je představit efektivitu a přínos těchto her, především pak při osvojování nové slovní zásoby a během konverzace. Praktická část je zaměřená na žáky osmé a deváté třídy základní školy, se snahou zlepšit jejich dovednosti za pomoci didaktických her. Tato část bude využívat metody pozorování a dotazníku pro studenty. Tato práce je rozdělená do dvou oblastí, teoretické a výzkumné části. Teoretická část se věnuje především poznatkům z oblastí metodiky, didakti-ky, her a jejích druhů, přičemž každá z částí demonstruje svůj přínos a metodologii pro mladé studenty. Praktická část se dále zabývá obory spojenými s výzkumem samotným, spo-lečně s využitými didaktickými hrami a výsledky výzkumu. Výsledky presentované v poslední kapitole pak zobrazují různorodé benefity dlouhodobého využívání didaktických her, zahrnující například zlepšenou schopnost využívání a vybavení se nové slovní zásoby, ale také delším rozsahem pozornosti a participací v hodinách.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis deals with the topic of “Didactic Games for Teaching English Lexis” in the ELT in the Czech Republic. The primary goal of the thesis is to assess the effectiveness of selected didactic games, with the main emphasis on lexis and discourse utilization. The research is aimed at the students of 8th and 9th grade of elementary school, in order to further improve their lexis acquisition and speaking abilities with the support of didactic games. The research is based on observation and student questionnaire, both attained on the above–mentioned students. The thesis is divided into two sections, a theoretical segment, and a research segment. The main theoretical structure is to be expressed by the categories of basic description of didactic games, groups of didactic games (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.), with each of the sections providing its own benefits, methodological focus on young learners, and methodology itself. The practical part includes areas connected to the research, as well as utilized didactic games and research results. The results presented in the final chapter display various benefits of the utilization of the didactic games, including the improved ability to recall and implement the newly acquired language, but also extended attention span of the students, and higher class participation.
