The influence of the integrated enriching curriculum on the intellectually gifted pupils in Czech language and communication

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zabývá problematikou integrovaného vzdělávání rozumově nadaných žáků. Popisuje výzkum vlivu obohacujícího kurikula na žáky s nadáním v předmětu český jazyk a komunikace. Výzkumné otázky jsou věnovány odhalení kritérií nadání, definování nadaného žáka, identifikaci a výběru nadaných žáků a jejich vzdělávání. Byly vytvořeny vzdělávací programy (obohacující a běžné kurikulum), které jsme aplikovali po dobu pěti měsíců v šestých třídách. Během výuky jsme zadávali dotazníky zjišťující rozdíly ve vybraných postojích dětí. Výstupem výzkumu je odhalení učebních charakteristik a vzdělávacích potřeb konkrétních nadaných dětí a formulace nejvhodnějších edukačních strategií a metod ve formě několika výchovně vzdělávacích doporučení pro práci s konkrétními nadanými žáky. Dále jsme zjistili, že obohacující kurikulum má v některých ohledech pozitivní vliv nejen na vybrané nadané, ale i na ostatní žáky třídy. Klíčový rozdíl jsme shledali v sebehodnocení žáků, v jejich angažovanosti a motivovanosti.

Abstract:

The Dissertation deals with the problem of integrated education of intellectually gifted children. It presents the research on the influence of an integrated enriching curriculum on intellectually gifted pupils in the school subject of Czech Language and Communication. The research questions are dedicated to finding the criteria of giftedness, defining a gifted pupil, identification and selection of gifted pupils and their education. We created educational programs (enriching and standard curriculum) which were put into practise for five months period in the classes of sixth year. During the educating we were assigning questionnaires, which revealed differences between selected children’s attitudes. The output of the research is to discover learning characteristics and educational needs of particular gifted children and formulation of the most appropriate educational strategies and methods which are presented in educational recommendation for dealing with gifted pupils. Furthermore we discovered the positive influence of an enriching curriculum not only on gifted pupils but also on other pupils of class. We found the key difference between pupil‘s self-evaluation, commitment and motivation.
