Prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers among the elderly

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá prevencí a ošetřováním dekubitů u seniorů. Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je nahlédnout do problematiky v rozdílnosti prevence a péče o dekubity v nemocniční zařízení a v sociálních pobytových službách. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí. Z části teoretické a empirické. V teoretické části se práce zabývá vymezením základních pojmů a poznatků, možnostmi prevence, organizací ve zdravotnickém zařízení a možnostmi léčby dekubitů. V empirické části jsou vyhodnocována a interpretována získaná data. Ke shromažďování dat byla zvolena kvantitativní metoda výzkumu dotazníkové šetření, pomocí něhož se porovnala prevence a péče personálu o dekubity ve zdravotnickém zařízení a v sociálních pobytových službách. Dotazník obsahuje 21 otázek, které byly následně zpracovány a na základě získaných výsledků je zpracována diskuze a závěr. Tato práce poukazuje na odlišnost způsobu prevence a ošetřování dekubitů a také na odlišnost možností v rámci používaných prostředků k prevenci a péči o proleženiny.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers among the elderly. The main goal of this thesis is the problematic of different kind of prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers at hospitals and social facilities for the elderly. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical one and the empiric one. The theoretical part studies basic terms and possible methods of the prevention and the treatment of ulcers. Furthermore, this work concerns the organization in the health facilities. In the empiric part, we used a questionnaire method to collect data, which were then evaluated. We compared ulcers prevention and their health care provided by health staff at hospitals and social facilities. The questionnaires comprised 21 questions were then evaluated. Discussion and conclusion were based on collected data. This bachelor thesis refers to different ways of prevention and treatment of ulcers. Besides that, it points out different possibilities of instruments used for treatment of ulcers.
