Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá otázkou slaďování rodiny a práce u matek samoživitelek. Cílem práce je zodpovědět hlavní výzkumnou otázku, která se táže po tom, jaké jsou současné strategie, které využívají matky samoživitelky ke skloubení rodinného a pracovního života, a jakou roli v těchto strategiích sehrávají zaměstnavatelé. Teoretická část práce přináší vymezení dvou hlavních konceptů – samoživitelství a harmonizace rodiny a práce. Jsou tak popisovány změny v konceptu rodiny, charakteristické vlastnosti samoživitelství, důvody vedoucí k jeho vzniku a také strategie, které jsou matkami samoživitelkami využívány. Pozornost je věnována postavení samoživitelek na trhu práce, současným trendům v oblasti harmonizace rodiny a práce, bariérám, které vhodnému způsobu harmonizace brání, a také činitelům ovlivňujícím tento proces. Metodická část popisuje strategii ametodu výzkumu, výzkumný vzorek, techniku sběru dat a diskutuje také etické otázky a způsob zpracování dat. Empirická část práce přináší interpretaci zjištění, a to na základě analýzy dat pořízených metodou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Odpovídá tak na otázku osobní identifikace samoživitelství, přináší pohled na hodnotu práce a poukazuje také na stigmatizaci konceptu. Následně se zabývá strategiemi, které matky samoživitelky využívají z hlediska péče, poukazuje na bariéry harmonizace, zvažuje podpůrné faktory a zabývá se otázkou role zaměstnavatele v procesu slaďování rodiny a práce. V neposlední řadě se snaží poukázat na úroveň znalostí prorodinných opatření a na jejich vhodnost a dostupnost z pohledu matek samoživitelek.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of harmonizing family and work life with the focus on single mothers. The main goal of this thesis is to bring an answer to the main research question: What are current strategies used by single mothers to harmonize their family and work life and which role employers play in these strategies. The theoretical part primarily brings an explanation of two main concepts – single parenthood and harmonization of family and work life. Changes in the concept of family, characteristics of single parenthood, reasons leading to its existence and also strategies used by single mothers are described. Then, the single mothers ́ position in the labour market, current trends in the field of harmonizing family and work life, barriers preventing appropriate harmonization and factors having the influence on this process are mentioned. The methodical part describes the strategy and the method of research, the research sample, the method of data collection and also discusses the ethical question and data processing. The empirical part brings an interpretation of results which have been obtained from the semi-structured interviews. This part brings an answer to the question of personal identification of single parenthood, gives a closer look to the value of the work and also refers to the stigmatization of the concept. Subsequently, strategies used by single mothers to be able to take care of children are mentioned, barriers preventing harmonization are pointed out, supporting factors are considered and the employer ́s role in the process of harmonizing family and work life is discussed. Last but not least, the level of knowledge of family supportive measures and their suitability and accessibility for single mothers is mentioned.
