Research on emotional intelligence in convicted persons serving prison sentences

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je na základě komplexní teoretické analýzy a realizovaného výzkumného šetření porovnat emoční inteligenci u odsouzených osob ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Teoretická část se věnuje tématu emoční inteligence, vězeňství a penitenciární péči. Kromě penitenciární péče je v teoretické části vymezena i problematika postpenitenciární péče, poukazující na důležitost odborné péče u osob po výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Praktickou část tvoří výsledky standardizovaného šetření pomocí Testu emoční inteligence - MSCEIT (Mayer a kol., 2012). Výzkumné šetření bakalářské práce bylo realizováno na vzorku 37 respondentů, kteří byli odsouzení ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Z počtu 37 respondentů bylo 20 žen a 17 mužů. Cílem výzkumného šetření je zjistit, nalézt a porovnat odlišnosti v emoční inteligenci u vybrané skupiny respondentů. Na základě výzkumu jsou formulovány závěry a doporučení, využitelná v praxi sociální pedagogiky a dalších disciplín pomáhajících profesí.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to compare the emotional intelligence of convicted persons in prison on the basis of a comprehensive theoretical analysis and a research investigation. The theoretical part deals with the topic of emotional intelligence, prison and penitentiary care. In addition to penitentiary care, the theoretical part defines postpenitentiary care, which highlights the importance of professional care for people after imprisonment. The practical part consists of the results of a standardized survey using the Test of Emotional Intelligence (Mayer et al., 2012). The research investigation of the Bachelor's thesis was carried out on a sample of 37 respondents who had been sentenced to imprisonment or just after imprisonment. Of the 37 respondents, 20 were female and 17 were male. The aim of the research investigation is to identify, find and compare the differences in emotional intelligence among the selected group of respondents. Based on the research, conclusions and recommendations are formulated, applicable in the practice of social pedagogy and other disciplines of helping professions.
