Transformation of Themes and Characters in Selected Psychological Novels from the Thirties and Forties of the 20th Century

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá komparací vybraných psychologických próz, které byly napsány v českém prostředí ve 30. a 40. letech 20. století. Analyzovány budou prózy Pacientka doktora Hegla od Marie Pujmanové, Advent od Jarmily Glazarové, Neviditelný od Jaroslava Havlíčka, Černé světlo od Václava Řezáče a Cizinec hledá byt od Egona Hostovského. Předmětem práce je rozbor vybraných próz, jenž se zaměří na popis syžetového řešení, motivickou stavbu, postavy a vypravěče. Na závěr dojde ke komparaci analyzovaných prvků. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jak se liší, popř. shoduje výstavba motivů, postav a vypravěčů u všech pěti zvolených próz.

Abstract:

The master thesis deals with the comparison of selected psychological prose pieces, which were written in the Czech country in the 30s and 40s of the 20th century. The Patient of Doctor Hegel by Marie Pujmanová, The Advent by Jarmila Glazarová, The Invisible by Jaroslav Havlíček, The Black Light by Václav Řezáč and The Foreigner Looking for an Apartment by Egon Hostovský are compared. The subject of the thesis is an analysis of selected proses focusing on a storyline, themes, characters and narrator. In conclusion the thesis compares analyzed elements. The aim of the thesis is to identify how the proses differ respectively coincide within each other with the theme construction, characters and narrators.
