Preparation of speech unit inventory for synthesis of Ukrainian speech

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této práce je návrh řečového korpusu ukrajinštiny. V procesu zkoumaní tohoto problému jsme se seznámili s problematikou syntézy řeči z textu (TTS) a přípravou inventáře řečových jednotek. Pro účely výstupního řečového korpusu byla v rámci této práce navržena fonetická abeceda ukrajinského jazyka. Další problematikou řešenou v této práci je fonetika ukrajinštiny, která je obecně rozebírána se zřetelem na její využití v syntéze ukrajinské řeči. Na základě probrané fonetiky byla vytvořena sada obecných fonetických pravidel, kterou jsme úspěšně použili pro přepis psaného ukrajinského textu na fóny. Řečový korpus jsme nahráli a popsali na slovní a fonetické úrovni, kde jsme použili navržená pravidla fonetické transkripce. Po nahrávání byla úspěšně provedena segmentace řečového korpusu a ověřena kvalita výstupního korpusu.

Abstract:

The main goal of this work is the proposal of the Ukrainian speech corpus. In the process of examining this problem, we introduced the issue of Speech Synthesis (TTS) and the preparation of speech unit inventory. For the purpose of the output speech corpus, the alphabet of the Ukrainian language was proposed in this work. Another issue solved in this thesis is the phonetic part of Ukrainian, which is generally solved with regard to its use in the synthesis of Ukrainian language. Based on the issued phonetic part, we created a set of general phonetic rules that we successfully used to overwrite the written Ukrainian text on the phone. We have recorded and described the speech corpus at the verbal and phone levels where we used the proposed phonetic transcription rules. After the recording, the speech corpus segmentation was performed successfully and the quality of the output corpus was verified.
