Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce je věnována knize „Zotročený duch“ Czesława Miłosze a osudům polských spisovatelů v době nastolení socialistického realismu komunistickou vládou na počátku 50. let. V centru mého zájmu se objevili čtyři spisovatelé (Jerzy Andrzejewski, Tadeusz Borowski, Jerzy Putrament a Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński), kteří Miłoszovi posloužili jako univerzální příklad „zotročené mysli“ intelektuálů totalitním režimem. Ony čtyři portréty jsem doplnila o pátý příklad – tedy o osud autora samotného, u kterého probíhal do jisté doby také stejný proces zotročování mysli novou vládou. Miłosz se však v roce 1951 rozhodl emigrovat ze své vlasti, za což byl potrestán absolutním zákazem vydávání jeho děl v Polsku až do 80. let, kdy obdržel Nobelovu cenu za literaturu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the book "The Captive Mind“, which was written by Czesław Miłosz, and also with the fate of polish writers during the time of socialistic realism which was established by the communist government in the fifties of the 20th century. There are four polish writers Jerzy Andrzejewski, Tadeusz Borowski, Jerzy Putrament and Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński in the centre of my interest, that personifies the universal example of intellectuals, whose mind was captived by the totalitarian regime. The fifth example, that completes the previous four portraits, describes the fate of the author of the book and similar process of his mind enslavement, that was caused by the new government. However Miłosz decided to leave Poland in 1951, which was the reason why publication of his books was prohibited until the eighties when he received the Nobel Prize for literature.
