Swarm-alternace jako degree konstrukce: experimentální studie na slovenských datech
Swarm-alternations as degree constructions: an experimental study on Slovak
Abstract:
Swarm-alternáciou sa nazýva vzťah medzi vetami typu "V záhrade bzučia včely" a "Záhrada bzučí včelami". Existujú dve popredné teórie, ktoré sa snažia objasniť ich sémantiku: Dowtyho hypotéza dynamickej textúry a Hoeksemova high-degree hypotéza. Predložená práca nasleduje Hoeksemovu teóriu a považuje swarm-alternácie za degree konštrukcie. Dva experimenty zamerané na slovenský jazyk testovali prijateľnosť …moreAbstract:
The swarm-alternation is a relation between sentences such as "Bees are swarming in the garden" and "The garden is swarming with bees". There are two major theories attempting to explain the underlying semantics: Dowty´s dynamic texture hypothesis and Hoeksema´s high-degree hypothesis. This master´s thesis follows Hoeksema´s theory and accounts for the swarm-alternation in terms of degree semantics …moreKeywords
