V předložené diplomové práci studuji chemicky pekuliární (CP) hvězdu HD 64740. Cílem mé práce je zjistit, jaké jsou příčiny fotometrické proměnnosti této hvězdy s nadbytkem helia. Všeobecně se předpokládá, že pozorované světelné změny CP hvězd jsou způsobené nerovnoměrným rozložením chemických prvků na povrchu těchto rotujících hvězd. In the present work I study chemically peculiar (CP) star HD 64740. The aim of my thesis is to determine the nature of the light variability of this helium strong star. It is commonly assumed that observed light variations of CP stars are caused by inhomogeneous distribution of chemical elements on the surface of these rotating stars.
