Transformation of criminal law in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje tématu proměn trestní politiky v České republice. Hlavní cíl je představit pojem trestní politiky a následně její vývoj v různých obdobích, kdy se střídaly politické strany ve vedené země. Zároveň práce poukazuje na nástroje jimiž trestní politika své cíle plní, či by do budoucna plnit chtěla. Práce je rozdělena do 5 hlavních kapitol z nichž kapitola 1 je úvod a pátá kapitola je závěr. Ve druhé kapitole je pozornost věnována především pojmům, které se k trestní politice vážou a nástrojů díky nimž plní své cíle. V kapitole tři je pak rozebráno samotné formování trestní politiky jak v České republice, tak i s ohledem na mezinárodní prvky a mezinárodní organizace s kterými je ČR provázána. Čtvrtá kapitola pak zpracovává různá časová období a rozebírá je z hlediska proměn trestní politiky v jednotlivých dobách.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is devoted to the topic of changes in criminal policy in the Czech Republic. The main goal is to introduce the concept of criminal policy and subsequently its development in different periods, during which political parties changed in power. At the same time, the thesis highlights the tools by which criminal policy achieves its goals, or those which it would like to achieve in the future. The thesis is divided into 5 main chapters, with Chapter 1 serving as an introduction and Chapter 5 as the conclusion. Chapter 2 focuses primarily on the concepts related to criminal policy and the tools by which it achieves its goals. Chapter 3 then analyzes the actual formation of criminal policy both in the Czech Republic and with regard to international elements and organizations with which the Czech Republic is associated. Chapter 4 examines different time periods and analyzes them in terms of the changes in criminal policy during each era.
