Communication as an integral part of the corporate culture

Abstract:

Master’s dissertation studies internal communication in Electrolux Slovakia s.r.o. company, its development since 1993 and cultural differences in company communication worldwide. The aim of dissertation is to analyze internal communication in Electrolux Slovakia s.r.o. company and suggest solutions, that will eliminate barriers and obstacles in communication, which were identified in the analytical part. I have explained historical development of communication, differences in business culture and formal channels used in internal communication in the introduction of this paper. Simultaneously, I have defined terms as effective communication, internal communication and organizational structure. Primary sources were collected from two interviews with company managers and from questionnaire. I have supplemented primary sources with intranet eGate analysis, company websites and personal experiences gained, while visiting the firm. The list of literature, online sources and other secondary sources, which I used in theoretical part of this dissertation is enclosed at the end.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca skúma vnútropodnikovú komunikáciu firmy Electrolux Slovakia s.r.o., jej vývoj od roku 1993 a kultúrne odlišnosti v internej komunikácii firmy celosvetovo. Cieľom práce je analyzovať vnútropodnikovú komunikáciu firmy Electrolux Slovakia s.r.o. a následne navrhnúť riešenie na odstránenie zistených bariér a prekážok v internej komunikácii. V teoretickej časti je popísaný historický vývoj komunikácie, kultúrne odlišnosti obchodných partnerov z rôznych krajín a vnútropodnikové nástroje komunikácie. Zároveň som vysvetlila pojmy ako efektívna komunikácia, vnútropodniková komunikácia, a organizačná štruktúra podniku. Pri spracovaní diplomovej práce som čerpala primárne dáta z riadených rozhovorov s manažérmi firmy a z dotazníkového šetrenia. Primárne dáta som doplnila analýzou interného komunikačného nástroju eGate, webovými stránkami firmy AB Electrolux a Electrolux Slovakia s.r.o. a osobnými skúsenosťami z návštevy firmy. Zoznam literatúry, elektronických zdrojov a iných sekundárnych dát, z ktorých som čerpala v teoretickej časti diplomovej práce, je priložený na záver.
