Effect of Canistherapy on the Physically disabled children in spa facility

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na canisterapii v lázeňském zařízení Klimkovice a na střední a těžké tělesné postižení. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První kapitola pojednává o metodách canisterapie, o canisterapeutických zkouškách a možnosti působení canisterapeutického psa. V druhé kapitole je popsána charakteristika středního a těžkého tělesného postižení, další terapeutické možnosti a vzdělání jedinců s takovým postižením. Praktická část se nachází ve třetí kapitole. Výzkum je kvalitativní, vychází z pozorování pěti dětí při canisterapii a následném polostrukturovaném rozhovoru s osobami pečujícími o dané klienty a samotným canisterapeutickým pracovníkem. Hlavním výzkumným cílem práce je analýza canisterapie u dětí se středním a těžkým tělesným postižením. Vedlejšími cíly jsou zvoleny popsání polohování a činností, které jsou při canisterapii zvoleny a analýza vhodnosti individuální canisterapie a skupinové canisterapie na klienty. Vzhledem k vybraným cílům jsou výchozí otázky: Jaké jsou přínosy canisterapie z pohledu canisterapeuta a z pohledu osoby pečující o klienta?, Jak důležitý je povzbudivý přístup canisterapeuta pro klienta? Jak děti reagují na psa v průběhu terapie?

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the canistherapy and on the moderate and severe physical disability in spa facility Klimkovice. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter contains information about canistherapeutic practices, canistherapeutic exams and about various possibilities of using canistherapeutic dog. The second chapter is about the characteristics of moderate and severe physical disability, other therapeutic options and about education of individuals with those disabilities. The practical part is in the third chapter. Thesis is done by qualitative form of research and is based on observation of five children during canistherapy, following by semi-structured interview with people who take care about those clients and with canistherapist itself. The main research goal is the analysis of canistherapy performed on children with moderate and severe physical disability. Secondary goals are the description of positioning and activities chosen during canistherapy and the analysis of the suitability of individual and group canistherapy for clients. Due to the selected goals, there are chosen default questions: What are the benefits of canistherapy from the perspective of a canistherapist and the client itself?, How important is the encouraging approach of a canistherapist for a client? and How do children respond to the dog during therapy?
