Josef Suk's String Quartet No. 2 in the context of music of the late 19th and early 20th century
Abstract:
Diplomová práce pojednává o Smyčcovém kvartetu č. 2 Josefa Suka, jeho významu v Sukově tvorbě a jeho souvislostech s českou a evropskou hudbou konce 19. a počátku 20. století. Práce obsahuje historii vzniku díla, jeho ohlasy a recepci, analýzu díla, určení jeho role v Sukově tvorbě a srovnání s významnými komorními díly české a evropské hudby.

The subject of this thesis is Josef Suk’s String Quartet No. 2, its role among Suk’s other works and its context with Czech and european music of the end of 19th and beginning of 20th centuries.
