The importance of auditing for increasing the performance of SMEs

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá významem finančně – ekonomického auditu pro zvýšení výkonnosti malého a středního podniku. V posledních letech můžeme pozorovat jistý trend, jak auditorské společnosti neustále vylepšuji svoje metody zkoumáni podnikových výkazů, neboť se to přímo týká jejich dobrého jména, stability, či konkurenceschopnosti a současně slouží pro informaci pro výkonnost podniků. Teoretická část se tak zaměřuje na vymezení pojmů spojených s auditem jako jsou významnost neboli také materialita, ekonomická životnost a také rešerši podnikových účetních výkazů, které jsou nutné k provedení auditu. Součásti této práce jsou kroky, které musí udělat, jak auditorská společnost, tak podnik, který je subjektem zkoumání. Obsahuje také i odpověď na otázku, proč se vůbec audit provádí a kdo se tomu musí podrobit. Praktickou část tak tvoří teoretické poznatky aplikované v praxi. Tyto informace tak pomáhají zjistit reálný stav podniku z pohledu jeho finančně ekonomického zdraví a konkurenceschopnosti.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the importance of financial-economic audit for increasing the performance of small and medium-sized en-terprises. In recent years, we have seen a trend of audit firms con-stantly improving their methods of examining corporate statements, as this directly affects their reputation, stability or competitiveness. The theoretical part thus focuses on the definition of terms related to the audit such as materiality, economic lifetime and also the search of cor-porate financial statements, which are necessary for the audit. The components of this work are the steps that must be taken by both the audit firm and the undertaking that is the subject of the examination. It also contains an answer to the question of why the audit is carried out at all and who has to undergo it. The practical part consists of theoret-ical knowledge applied in practice. This information helps to determine the real state of the company in terms of its financial-economic health and competitiveness.
