The elements of urban interconnections

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá prvky městského propojení. Je rozdělena na tři části: teoretickou, analytickou a návrhovou část. Teoretická část bakalářské práce je literární rešerší zaměřenou na veřejný prostor, který definuje a dále se věnuje jeho typologii, historickému i současnému vývoji a principům navrhování se zaměřením na veřejný prostor jako prvek propojení města ve vazbě na řeku. V práci jsou popsány prvky zelené infrastruktury a typy systémů zeleně města. Teoretická část je doplněna vybranými referenčními příklady domácích i zahraničních realizací.Analytická část se věnuje především rozboru modelového území okolo úseku řeky Bystřice v Olomouci, v délce od mostu na Masarykově třídě po ulici Zeyerovu. Mimo to zkoumá také širší vazby území ve struktuře města a historické souvislosti jeho vývoje. Hlavním výstupem analýz je formulace pozitiv a negativ území formou problémového výkresu, který je stěžejním podkladem pro návrhové řešení studie.Poslední částí je samotný návrh, jehož hlavní myšlenkou je zlepšení prostupnosti modelového území v napojení na stávající infrastrukturu města. Rozvíjen je také ekologický význam a rekreační potenciál celého území. Předmětem návrhu je také řešení dopravní situace.

Abstract:

This is a bachelor thesis dealing with the elements of urban interconnections. The thesis has free parts: a theoretical part, a analysing part and a design part.The theoretical part is a literature research focussed on public space. The research defines public space and its different types, historical and current development, the principles of its design especially in the context of the relationship between a river and urban space.This research describes the elements of green infrastructure and different types of urban greenery systems. There are also Czech and foreign references to implementations.The analytic part contains an analysis of a sample area around the Bystřice river in Olomouc.The area is limited by the bridge in Masarykova Avenue and Zeyerova street. Beside this, the analytic part covers also wider relations in the city structure and historical context. The main outcome of the analysis is to define positive and negative features of the area in a form of a map of area issues. The map is an essential source for design solutions.The last part contains the design itself. The main purpose of the design is a better permeability of the sample area related to the current city infrastructure. The overall design enhances the environmental quality of the area, improving the recreational functions of the whole place. The design also provides a solution to the traffic.
