Audio characteristics of meteorological broadcast on ČT1 (with the focus on the pace of speech)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce si klade za cíl zhodnotit řeč moderátorů meteorologické relace na České televizi zejména z hlediska tempa řeči a některých signálů nonverbální komunikace. Teoretická část se zabývá historií předpovědi počasí vysílanou Českou televizí, vysvětlením pojmů přízvuk, intonace, frázování, tempo řeči nebo také komunikační maximy. Praktická část práce je věnována čtyřem moderátorům počasí na ČT1 a analýze jejich projevů. Vždy je přepsána první a poslední minuta jejich projevu, vypočítány hodnoty tempa řeči a prezentovány závěry pozorování, způsobu zacházení se zvukovými vlastnostmi řeči a s neverbálními projevy v průběhu řeči.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis aims to evaluate and analyse the speech of meteorologic broandcast hosts on the Czech television especially the viewpoint of pace of speech and some nonverbal communication signals. The theoretical part deals with the weather forecast history broadcasting Czech television, explanation of terms as accent, intonation, phrase, pace of speech or communication maxim. The practical part is dedicated to four weather forecast hosts on the ČT1 programme and to the analysis of their speech. The parts of their speech is always transcribed as well as there is an effort to evaluate their pace of speech, presented the conclusions of observations, effective treatment of the sound properties of speech and nonverbal communication during the speech.
