Analysis of supply and demand of volunteer tourism in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou nabídky a poptávky dobrovolnického cestovního ruchu v České republice. Cílem diplomové práce je analyzovat nabídku dobrovolnického cestovního ruchu v České republice, zjistit strukturu a motivy účastníků a navrhnout možnosti k zvýšení účasti. Práce je rozdělena do teoretické, analytické a návrhové části. Teoretická část je věnována definici pojmů cestovní ruch, dobrovolnický cestovní ruch a největší pozornost je zaměřena na dobrovolnictví. Analytická část se zabývá analýzou nabídky a poptávky dobrovolnického cestovního ruchu v České republice. V úvodní části je analyzována nabídka 5 vybraných organizací pořádajících dobrovolnické projekty v ČR i zahraničí a komparativní analýza dobrovolnických organizací. Pro analýzu poptávky dobrovolnického cestovního ruchu v České republice je použito dotazníkové šetření a řízené rozhovory se zaměstnanci dobrovolnických organizací. Součástí analytické části je případová studie, která identifikuje bariéry účasti na dobrovolnickém cestovním ruchu v České republice z pohledu účastníků. Závěrečnou částí práce je návrh konkrétních možností, které by mohli vést k zvýšení poptávky po dobrovolnickém cestovním ruchu v ČR.

Abstract:

The Master´s Dissertation deals with the analysis of the supply and demand of volunteer tourism in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the offer of volunteer tourism in the Czech Republic, to find out the structure and motives of the participants and to propose possibilities to increase participation. The thesis is divided into theoretical, analytical and proposal parts. The theoretical part is devoted to the definition of the terms tourism, volunteer tourism and the greatest attention is focused on volunteering. The analytical part deals with the analysis of the supply and demand of volunteer tourism in the Czech Republic. The introductory part analyzes the offer of 5 selected organizations organizing volunteer projects in the Czech Republic and abroad and a comparative analysis of volunteer organizations. For the analysis of the demand of voluntary tourism in the Czech Republic, a questionnaire survey and controlled interviews with employees of voluntary organizations are used. Part of the analytical part is a case study that identifies barriers to participation in volunteer tourism in the Czech Republic from the point of view of participants. The final part of the thesis is a proposal of specific options that could lead to an increase in demand for volunteer tourism in the Czech Republic.
