Functional profiling of innate immune cells in patients with various trauma.

Abstract:

Každé trauma vede k aktivaci zánětu a do jisté míry vede k deregulaci funkcí imunitního systému. Jasný popis událostí ovlivňujících imunitní systém v důsledku traumatu stále chybí a diagnostika těchto prvních kroků imunitní aktivace může být rozhodující pro predikci a prevenci dalších komplikací během zotavování pacienta z akutního stavu. Počátek traumatu společně s rozvojem zánětu ovlivňuje počet a funkci myeloidních buněk. Právě myeloidní buňky představují první senzory, jejich funkční schopnosti mohou odrážet schopnost pacienta se zotavit, nebo naopak predikovat riziko vyvíjející se SIRS nebo sepse.

Abstract:

Every trauma leads to activation of the inflammation and in some extent is followed by deregulation of immune system functions. Clear description of events affecting the immune system due to trauma is still lacking and diagnosis of the first steps of immune activation could be crucial for prediction and prevention of further complications during recovery. The onset of trauma together with progression of inflammation influence the number and functions of myeloid cells. Thus, myeloid cells are the first sensors. Their functional abilities can reflect patient’s ability to recover,or on the other hand predict the risk of developing SIRS or sepsis.
