Comparation of the Culturally Historical Potential Between New York and Washington

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá srovnáním kulturně – historického potenciálu New Yorku a Washingtonu. Po vysvětlení základních pojmů - potenciálu cestovního ruchu, kulturně historického potenciálu, SWOT analýzy a Dark Tourismu, se soustředí na komparaci historických odlišností, nejvýznamnějších kulturních pamětihodností, které jsou pro město charakteristické, a dále pak na obyvatelstvo a kulturní odlišnosti. Další kapitola je věnována známým osobnostem New Yorku. Hlavními událostmi roku v obou městech se zabývá další díl práce. V poslední části je vytvořena SWOT analýza kulturně historického potenciálu New Yorku a Washingtonu.

Abstract:

After explaining the main expressions, such as the tourism potential, the cultural and historical potential, the SWOT analysis and the Dark Tourism, it focuses on the comparation of the historical differences, the most important cultural sights, which are characteristic for each city and then on the inhabitants and the cultural differences. The next chapter deals with important personalities of New York. The most important annual events in both cities are the topic of another part of the thesis. The last chapter is occupied with creating the SWOT analysis of the cultural historical potential of New York and Washington.
