The evidence of the sand- and gravel-pits with the occurence of the glacial sediments in Šluknov Hook

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá evidencí a výzkumem štěrkopískoven s výskytem glaciálních sedimentů ve Šluknovském výběžku. Cílem práce bylo zmapování a popis lokalit s možnými nálezy fosilií v pazourcích a následné determinace nálezů českými specialisty.V teoretické části jsou shrnuty všechny dosavadní informace týkající se geologie zájmového území, kontinentálního zalednění a glaciálních sedimentů. V praktické části bylo popsáno zachování štěrkopískoven, jejich lokace, litologie a přehled nalezených fosilií. Identifikovaných štěrkopískoven bylo 34 a z nich na osmi lokalitách byly nalezeny pazourky, z čehož na sedmi lokalitách pak bylo nalezeno 567 pazourků s fosilní biotou (Bryozoa, Echinoidea, Crinoidea, Foraminifera, Bivalvia, Gastropoda, Polychaeta). Vzhledem k zachování fosilií bylo možné determinovat do úrovně druhu 8 taxonů, zbývající nálezy byly ponechány vzhledem k absenci determinačních znaků na úrovni rodů či vyšších taxonomických skupin. V diskusi jsou popsány veškeré problémy, s kterými jsem se setkala při zpracování této práce. V závěru jsou shrnuty nové poznatky, které byly při výzkumu zjištěny. Dospěla jsem ke zjištění, že fosiliferní pazourky lze nalézt jen v několika štěrkopískovnách, v nich však jsou poměrně hojné a proto se mi podařilo nashromáždit dostatečně velkou kolekci fosilií.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the records and research of sand pits with the occurrence of glacial sediments in the Šluknov spur. The aim of the work was charting and description of sites with potential findings of fossils in the flints and the subsequent determination of findings of Czech specialists. In the theoretical part summarizes all current information concerning the geology of the area, continental glaciation and glacial sediments. In the practical part of the described maintenance sand pits, location, lithology, and an overview of the fossils found. Identified pits were 34 and of these eight localities were found flints. At seven localities were found 567 flint fragments with fossil biota (Bryozoa, Echinoidea, Crinoidea, Foraminifera, Bivalvia, Gastropoda, Polychaeta). Due to the preservation of fossils was possible to determine the species level taxa 8, the remaining findings were left due to the lack of determination of characters at the genus level or higher taxonomic groups. In the discussion are described all the problems, I've met in this work. The conclusion summarizes new findings, which were identified during the research. I came to the conclusion that fossiliferous flints can be found only in a few gravel sand, but they are relatively abundant and therefore I was able to amass a large enough collection of fossils.
