Silicone Hydrogel Contact Lenses

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce nese název ,,Silikonhydrogelové kontaktní čočky“, jejímž cílem je shrnout poznatky o nejvyužívanějším materiálu v kontaktologii - silikonhydrogelu. Úvodní část bakalářské práce je věnována historickému vývoji až po novodobou současnost. Následující kapitoly obsahují členění silikonhydrogelových čoček dle různých kategorií. Největší část bakalářské práce se zaobírá charakteristikou obecných a specifických vlastností materiálu. V závěru jsou popsány nejnovější modifikace kontaktních čoček a moderní technologie pro udržení vlhkosti materiálu.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis is called "Silicone hydrogel contact lenses". The aim of thesis is to summarize knowledge about the most used material in contactology - silicone hydrogel. The introductory part of the bachelor's thesis is devoted to the historical development up to the modern day. The following chapters contain a breakdown of silicone hydrogel lenses into different categories. The largest part of the bachelor's thesis deals with characterizing the general and specific properties of the material. In the conclusion, the latest modifications of contact lenses and modern technology for maintaining the moisture of the material are described.
