The Birth of Christian Europe: christianity the czech lands from the Great Moravian to the Sázava Monastery

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je zachycení prvopočátků christianizace českých zemí. Tato práce je zaměřena na období od 9. století do 11. století. Práce je soustředěna na christianizační proces v souvislosti s budováním českého státu, s čímž souvisí křest čtrnácti českých knížat a křest knížete Bořivoje na Velké Moravě. Dále je zde popsáno zakládání křesťanských kostelů knížetem Bořivojem. Následující kapitoly popisují šíření slovanské liturgie soluňskými bratry Cyrilem a Metodějem, zakládání benediktinských klášterů a staroslověnské písemnictví v Čechách. Cílem této práce je shrnout nejdůležitější události v procesu christianizace raně středověkých Čech.

Abstract:

The theme of the work is to detect early days of Christianity in the Czech lands. This thesis is focused on the period from 9 the 11th century. This thesis is focused on the development of Christianity process in connection with the development of the state, which is related to baptism fourteen Czech dukes and baptism of dukes Borivoj in Great Moravia. There is also described the creation of the first Christian churches by dukes Borivoj. The following sections describe the spread of Slavic liturgy Thessaloniki brothers Cyril and Methodius, the establishment of Benedictine monasteries and Old-Slavonic Literature in Bohemia. The aim of this thesis is to summarize the most important events in the process of Christianization of medieval Bohemia.
