Reliability of measurement of Achilles tendon length and cress sectional area via ultrasonography

Abstract:

Prvním cílem práce bylo určení spolehlivosti měření délky Achillovy šlachy kombinací ultrasonografické metody a kinematické analýzy pohybu. Druhým cílem práce bylo zjistit, zdali má prodloužení Achillovy šlachy po její ruptuře vliv na tuhost kolene při běhu. Testování bylo provedeno na 10 rekreačních sportovcích (33,6 ? 7,6 let) po ruptuře Achillovy šlachy, zařazených do experimentální skupiny a 10 rekreačních sportovcích (34,2 ? 8,2 let) kontrolní skupiny bez současných zdravotních komplikací a bez operace či vážného zranění či onemocnění svalově kosterního systému v minulosti. Měření délky bylo provedeno kombinací ultrasonografické metody a kinematické analýzy pohybu. Kinetická a kinematická analýza běhu byla provedena pěti platnými pokusy na boso a pěti pokusy v obuvi, při rychlosti 3,2 m/s ? 5%. Analýza dat byla provedena v programu Qualisys Track Manager a Visual3D. Statistická analýza dat byla provedena v programu Excel 2016 a IBM SPSS Statistics 23. Z výsledku můžeme usoudit, že vysoký korelační koeficient a nízká typická chyba, vypovídá o vysoké spolehlivosti měření délky Achillovy šlachy kombinací ultrasonografické metody a kinematické analýzy pohybu. Prodloužení délky Achillovy šlachy po ruptuře, nemá dle výsledku vliv na tuhost kolene při běhu.

Abstract:

The first aim of this study was to determine the reliability of the measurement of the length of the Achilles tendon by combination of ultrasound methods and kinematic motion analysis. The second aim was to determine whether a prolongation of the Achilles tendon effects the stiffness of the knee while running. Testing was performed on 10 recreational athletes (33.6 ? 7.6 years) after rupture of the Achilles tendon, assigned to the experimental group of 10 recreational athletes (34.2 ? 8.2 years) control group without current medical complications and without history of surgery or serious injury of musculoskeletal system. The length measurement was done by combination of ultrasound methods and kinematic motion analysis. Kinetic and kinematic analysis was conducted by five trials of barefoot and shod run at a speed of 3.2 m / s ? 5%. Data analysis was done in Qualisys Track Manager and Visual3D. Statistical analysis of data was performed in Excel 2016 and SPSS 23rd. From the results we can conclude that a high correlation coefficient, and low typical error indicates the high reliability of measuring the length of the Achilles tendon combination of ultrasound methods and kinematic motion analysis. Results shows that extending the length of the Achilles tendon, does not influence the stiffness of the knee during running.
