Critical assessment of urban safety in smart cities.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá zajištěním bezpečnosti obyvatelstva chytrých měst. Cílem práce je popsat a kriticky zhodnotit opatření zvyšující bezpečnost ve městech, zejména se zaměřením na využívání chytrých monitorovacích systémů, a to ve třech vybraných lokalitách Ostravy. Teoretická část je založena na studii odborné literatury a dalších relevantních zdrojů. Samotný výzkum je založen na rozhovorech vedených s odborníky v dané problematice, terénním šetřením ve třech vybraných lokalitách v Ostravě, které disponují chytrým monitorovacím systémem a dotazníkovým šetřením. Závěrem je kritické zhodnocení silných a slabých stránek opatření, které zvyšují bezpečnost v Ostravě.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with ensuring the security of the population of smart cities. The aim of this thesis is to describe and critically evaluate measures to increase security in cities, especially focusing on the use of smart monitoring systems, in three selected localities of Ostrava. The theoretical part is based on the study of professional literature and other relevant sources. The research itself is based on interviews conducted with experts in the field, field research in three selected localities in Ostrava, which have a smart monitoring system and a questionnaire survey. Finally, the strengths and weaknesses of the measures that increase security in Ostrava are critically evaluated.
