Prevention of burnout syndrome by social workers The Salvation Army Havířov

Abstract:

Cílem práce je sumarizace a popis pojmů týkajících se syndromu vyhoření a analýza existence služeb či aktivit, které zajišťují prevenci syndromu vyhoření u sociálních pracovníků, a vytvoření návrhu opatření pro prevenci syndromu vyhoření u sociálních pracovníků. Teoretická část popisuje sociální práci a sociálního pracovníka, zabývá se také problematikou syndromu vyhoření u sociálních pracovníků. Mapuje příčiny a průběh syndromu vyhoření. Analyzuje prevenci včetně základních preventivních opatření jako supervize a psychohygiena. V poslední části kapitoly zdůrazňuje důležitost prevence syndromu vyhoření. Poukazuje na případné následky při nedostatečné prevenci a následnou nezbytnou léčbu. Aplikační část se zabývá popisem Armády spásy a poté se soustředí konkrétně na pobočku Armády spásy v Havířově. Zkoumá prevenci syndromu vyhoření v této organizaci. Mapuje existenci služby pro prevenci či léčbu syndromu vyhoření u sociálních pracovníků. Hlavní část této práce předkládá návrh pravidelného kurzu pro prevenci syndromu vyhoření u sociálních pracovníků.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the description, examination and summarisation of concepts and terms relating to the phenomenon of the burnout syndrome. It also aims to suggest measures for prevention of the burnout syndrome with social workers. The theoretical part gives a detailed account of the social worker and defines his or her work on the daily basis. It treats the issue of the phenomenon of the burnout syndrome with social workers. The theoretical part also traces the burnout syndrome causes and its development. It analyses prevention tools of the syndrome, such as supervision and psychological hygiene. The final chapter underlines the importance of prevention of the burnout syndrome. It points out possible cosequences of the lack of prevention and describes subsequent necessary therapeutic treatment. The application part first introduces the Salvation Army international charitable organisation, to focus later on its office established in Havířov, Czech republic. The application part treats the phenomenon of the burnout syndrome of the Havířov office social worker staff. It maps out whether and how the service for prevention of the burnout with social workers operates and what and treatmentit provides. The main part of this thesis suggests to set up a regular course with necessary instruments for prevention of the burnout with social workers.
