Symptothermal method and woman’s physiological cycle

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje symptotermální metodě a fyziologickým projevům ženské cykličnosti. Tato metoda je založená na sledování bazální tělesné teploty a dalších symptomů, díky kterým lze spolehlivě vyhodnotit plodné a neplodné období. Vzhledem k tomu, že se jedná o přirozenou, neinvazivní metodu, která vychází z fyziologických projevů ženského těla, lze tuto metodu individuálně využít pro početí, vyhnutí se početí či pro kontrolu cyklu. Teoretická část práce se zabývá popisem fyziologického cyklu a shrnutím přirozených metod antikoncepce. Dále se teoretická část věnuje symptotermální metodě a jejímu využití. Praktická část využívá kvalitativní metodu. Pro sběr informací byl použit strukturovaný rozhovor, pro který byl vybrán náhodný vzorek deseti žen, které užívají symptotermální metodu. Pomocí rozhovoru bylo zjišťováno, z jakého důvodu se žena rozhodla pro symptotermální metodu a jaký z toho má prospěch. Dále bylo zkoumáno, jak dlouhý je ženin individuální cyklus a jak během sledování svůj cyklus vnímá a zároveň jiné symptomy, které ženu upozorní na příchod ovulace či menstruace. Informace od respondentek byly zpracovány do podoby kazuistik, ze kterých byla následně vytvořena analýza.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the topic of symptothermal method and woman‘s physiological cycle. Symptothermal method is fertility awareness method based on observation of morning temperature and several signs of the woman’s body, which allows to identify fertile and infertile periods. In view of the fact that this method is natural, non – invasive and based on physiological expression of woman’s body it can be used as contraception, cycle control or for conception. Theoretical part of this thesis is devoted to description of the physiological cycle and symptothermal method that belongs to natural family planning methods. Practical part of this bachelor thesis uses qualitative method. Structured interview was used to obtain information from the random sample of 10 women that use symptothermal method. It was examined what is the reason for choosing his method and what are the advantages. It also showed how long the woman’s cycle is, how women take perceive their cycle and what symptoms they observe before menstruation. Based on the information that was obtained by the interview, analysis was made.
