Historical roots of corruption

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá korupcí, příčinami jejího vzniku a také jejím historickým vývojem. V první části této práce jsou objasněna teoretická východiska, která se k pojmu korupce vztahují. Pomocí sekundární analýzy textu a mnohočetné případové studie byl naplněn hlavní cíle práce, tedy zhodnotit a analyzovat příčiny vzniku a vývoje korupce. Práce také popisuje případy korupce ve významných civilizacích v historii a jejich různé přístupy k boji proti rozšiřování korupce, na jejichž základě lze s jistotou říct, že korupce zde byla již od dob vzniku prvních civilizací. Práce odhalila, že příčin vzniku korupce je mnoho, základem se mohou stát charakterové rysy člověka, tíživá životní situace, nátlak společnosti, či rozložení státu. I přesto je důležité s korupcí aktivně bojovat a snažit se zabránit v jejím rozšiřování napříč společností, ale její úplné vymýcení není možné.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with corruption, the causes of its origin and also its historical development. The first part of this work clarifies the theoretical background related to the concept of corruption. With the help of secondary text analysis and multiple case studies, the main goals of the work were fulfilled, ie to evaluate and analyze the causes of the origin and development of corruption. The work also describes cases of corruption in major civilizations in history and their various approaches to the fight against the spread of corruption, based on which it can be said with certainty that corruption has been here since the first civilizations. The work revealed that the causes of corruption are many, the basis may be human traits, difficult life situation, pressure from society, or the division of the state. Nevertheless, it is important to actively fight corruption and try to prevent it from spreading across society, but its complete eradication is not possible.
