Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tvorbou bilingvního glosáře pojmů popisujících menšinové sexuální a genderové identity v rámci LGBTQ+ skupiny. Práce poukazuje na komplikovaný vztah mezi překladem a oborem queer studií. Představuje teoretické základy práce s terminologií a specializovanými jazyky a tyto koncepty poté aplikuje v části věnované samotné tvorbě glosáře. Termíny obsažené v glosáři jsou poté detailněji studovány z hlediska překladových procedur. Na závěr práce porovnává škálu termínů v anglickém a českém jazyce a poukazuje na nedostatky v české terminologii.

Abstract:

This thesis describes the creation of a bilingual glossary of terms describing the minority sexual and gender identities present within the LGBTQ+ spectrum. The work presents the complex relationship between the fields of translation and queer studies. It introduces the theoretical framework involved in glossary compilation and later applies the introduced concepts in the section dedicated to the glossary compilation itself. Terms included in the glossary are then analysed in more detail regarding translation procedures involved in their translation. Finally, the thesis compares the scope of English and Czech terminology and points out the insufficiencies present in the list of Czech terms.
