Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of adopting the euro

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením dopadů přijetí eura na typ společnosti s obchodním modelem „smluvní výrobce“. Na rozvahových položkách ukazuje důležitost použitého kurzu a postupu při přepočtu na euro a na výsledkových účtech možné dopady. Následně zobrazuje náklady a výnosy spojené s touto změnou. Cílem práce je zhodnotit výhody a rizika spojená s přijetím eura ve společnosti ABC, s.r.o. z účetního hlediska a navrhnout opatření pro úspěšnou implementaci této změny. V práci je provedena analýza účetních dat, výpočet koeficientů pro přepočet dat a simulace přijetí eura v roce 2021. Kvantitativní metoda je podpořena polostrukturovanými rozhovory. V závěru jsou formulovány dosažené výsledky a navržený postup pro bezproblémový přechod na novou měnu.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the evaluation of the impact of the adoption of the euro on a type of company with the business model "contract manufacturer". It shows on balance sheet items the importance of the exchange rate used and the procedure for converting to the euro and on profit and loss accounts the possible impacts. It then shows the costs and revenues associated with this change. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the benefits and risks associated with the adoption of the euro at ABC, s.r.o. from an accounting perspective and to propose measures for the successful implementation of this change. The paper analyses accounting data, calculates data conversion factors and simulates the adoption of the euro in 2021. The quantitative method is supported by semi-structured interviews. Finally, the results obtained and the proposed procedure for a smooth transition to the new currency are formulated.
