The expressive appearance of the social workers in the social field

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Výrazný vzhled pracovníků v sociální oblasti“ se zabývá otázkou, jak je v prostředí sociálních služeb vnímán pracovník s výrazným vzhledem. Otázka je nazírána z úhlu pohledu samotných pracovníků s výrazným vzhledem a vedoucích pracovníků, kteří pracují s pracovníky s výrazným vzhledem. Výzkum je doplněn také o pohled samotných uživatelů konkrétní služby. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a výzkumnou část, které se prolínají. Teoretická část se věnuje nastínění problematiky sociálních služeb, vlivu kultury a subkultury v kontextu problematiky výrazného vzhledu, psychologie vnímání a samotného pojmu výrazný vzhled. Výzkumnou část tvoří kvalitativní výzkum, vycházející z rozhovorů, který se zaměřuje na postavení pracovníka s výrazným vzhledem v oblasti sociální služby. Rozhovory byly zpracovány metodou zakotvené teorie, s otevřeným, axiálním a selektivním kódováním.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis „The expressive appearance of the social workers in the social field“ deals with the question of perception of people with expressive appearance in the environment of social services. The issue is observed from the view of these workers themselves as well as their bosses’. Additionally, the research deals with the view of the users of a particular social service. The paper is divided into theoretical part and research part. The theoretical part outlines the social services issue. It also deals with the influence of culture and subculture in contect of the expressive appearence issue, the perception psychology and the term „expressive appearence.“ The research part contains the qualitative research based on interviews. This research concentrates on the status of social worker with an expressive appearance. The interviews were done using the methods of grounded theory with open coding, axial coding, selective coding.
