Elasticity of demand functions in commodity vertical of malting barley

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřená na poptávkové vztahy na komoditní vertikále sla-dovnického ječmene v letech 1993–2017, u kterých hodnotí cenovou elasticitu. V rámci komoditní vertikály sladovnického ječmene se diplomová práce zabývá spotřebitelským trhem s pivem, trhem se sladem a se sladovnickým ječmenem. Na základě ročních údajů, zjištěných z Českého statistického úřadu, Ječmenářské ročenky a Českého hydrometeorologického ústavu byly sestaveny modely přísluš-ných poptávkových funkcí, prostřednictvím kterých byla posuzována cenová elas-ticita. Dosažené koeficienty pružnosti byly interpretovány v návaznosti na specifi-ka zkoumané zemědělsko–potravinářské vertikály.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the demand relations on the commodity vertical of malting barley in 1993–2017, for which it evaluates price elasticity. Within the commodity vertical of malting barley, the diploma thesis occupy with the consum-er market of beer, malt market and malting barley. Based on the annual data col-lected from the Czech Statistical Office, the Barley Yearbook and the Czech Hydro-meteorological Institute, models of relevant demand functions were compiled, through which price elasticity was assessed. The obtained coefficients of elasticity were interpreted in relation to the specifics of the considered agri–food vertical.
