Image-driven simplification of triangle meshes using perceptual metrics

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá možnostmi image-driven simplifikace trojúhelníkových sítí s využitím percepčních metrik. Teoretická část popisuje geometrické a obrazové simplifikační metody, které jsou použity v praktické části. Cílem této práce je zjistit, zda percepční obrazová metrika snižuje hodnotu geometrické percepční metriky ve srovnání s nepercepční metrikou. V této práci jsou implementovány dvě geometrické nepercepční metriky, jedna nepercepční obrazová metricka a jedna percepční obrazová metrika. Tyto metriky jsou zkoumány v závěrečné části.

Abstract:

This Thesis deals with the possibilities of image-driven simplification of triangle meshes using perceptual metrics. The Theoretical section describes the geometric and image-driven simplification methods that are used in the practical part. The goal of this work is to determine whether perceptual image metrics reduce the value of geometric perceptual metrics compared to non-perceptual metrics. In this Thesis there are implemented two geometric non-perceptual metrics, one non-perceptual image-driven metric and one perceptual image-driven metric. These metrics are examined in the final section.
