Trasology in stone as a documentation method in selected Etruscan sites in the period 1st millennium BC

Abstract:

Trasologie je relativně novým oborem, který hlouběji zakořenil v kriminalistice. V humanitní sféře se projevil v archeologii, kde předmětem zkoumání byla především pravěká kamenná industrie.. Předkládaná práce se soustředí na dílčí část trasologie a to mechanoskopii, tedy identifikaci stop po kamenických nástrojích, analýzu tvaru a dynamiky stopy a konečnou rekonstrukci užitého nástroje. Práce se věnuje stopám, identifikovaným na několika italských etruských lokalitách, souvisejícím s činností těžební, stavební ale také se sochařskou tvorbou, resp. uměleckou aktivitou. Práce vychází ze spolupráce s Programem antického kulturního dědictví UDKÚ KTF UK, který je organizátorem výzkumu na území antických Tarquinií, z něhož tato práce částečně vychází.

Abstract:

Traceology is a relatively new discipline, where the subject of research was primarily the prehistoric stone industry. The present work will focus on the part of trasology, the mechanoscopy, wich identifies thetraces of the stone tools, analyses the shape and dynamics of the traces and reconstructs the final form of the used tool. The present work studies the traces identified in several Italian Etruscan sites that are connected with mining, building activity and also sculpting activity or generally the products of art. It is based on the collaboration with the Programme of Classical Cultural Heritage of the Institute of Christian Art (Catholic theological faculty, Charles university Prague), which organizes the research in the territory of the ancient Tarquinia.
