An analysis of injury incidence of swimmers

Abstract:

This bachelor work is about pro swimmers and their most common injuries. The main goal is to find out which state of injuries are momentally in the Slovak swimming represensation. In which measure is common swimming arm, breaststroke knee and problem with spiral in Lumbar and in neck part. What are the methods which are used to heal and how to avoid problems. Gathering info was via survey, which was available on the internet. Survey was sent to 30 respondent. In my research I considered those swimmers who are swimming at least 5 years and they are attending national swimming competition. The subsequent analysis showed the most common pain for swimmer are in shoulder and knee joint. Three of them even had a surgery. The results of research also show lack of before and after stretching and also that 19 of respondents are able to swim more than 30kilometres in one week. In this research we found out that the injuries have origin in excessive load of joints.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá najčastejšími zraneniami u vrcholových plavcov. Jej hlavným cieľom je zistiť aký stav momentálne panuje v slovenskej plaveckej reprezentácií. Do akej miery sa vyskytujú problémy ako je plavecké rameno, prsiarske koleno a problémy v oblasti krížovej a krčnej časti chrbtice. Akými metódami sa liečia a ako týmto problémom predchádzajú. Zber dát prebiehal formou dotazníka, ktorý bol dostupný na internete. Dotazník bol odoslaný 30 respondentom . Za výskumný súbor som považovala plavcov, ktorí sa venujú pretekovému plávaniu aspoň 5 rokov a zúčastňujú sa medzinárodných pretekov. Následná analýza dát preukázala že najčastejšie bolesti pociťujú plavci v ramennom a kolennom kĺbe, 3 respondenti museli dokonca podstúpiť chirurgický zákrok. Výsledky výskumu tak isto ukazujú na zanedbaný strečing pred ale aj po tréningu a že viac ako 30 kilometrov týždenne náplava 19 respondentov. Z toho vyplýva že zranenia u plavcov vznikajú nadmerným zaťažovaním kĺbov.
